The mission of Newnan Academy of Preschool and Child Care is to provide quality child care and learning experiences for children in a safe and caring environment. Newnan Academy believes in the whole child, and strives to provide an environment that nurtures physical, cognitive and social aspects of the child’s overall development.
Family owned and operated since 1998, Newnan Academy is under the direction of Jefflyn Jones Brannon. A graduate of Georgia Southern University, Mrs. Brannon holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Child Development. Our staff and bus drivers are CPR and first aid trained, so you can be confident that the time your child spends with us is always safe and secure.
All our classrooms are closed circuit monitored and feature a wealth of teaching aids and creative materials. Separate age-appropriate playgrounds, a multi-purpose gymnasium and a swimming pool are a few of the features that make Newnan Academy unique. Newnan Academy places children in the program that’s perfect for their level of development, not just their age.
The Infant and Toddler Program begins at the age of 6 weeks; the child is moved to the next level when they begin crawling, and again when they are able to walk steadily. When a child reaches two and is developmentally ready, they move into the classroom for Two Year-Olds. Each year, the child’s progress is evaluated and, when ready, they move on to the classes for Three, then Four Year-Olds. At every stage, our teachers develop lesson plans and activities centered around specific learning criteria.
Our Pre-K Program, directed by Judy Hill, is lottery funded and conforms to the State of Georgia’s Bright From the Start guidelines.
Children who require Before School Care are fed breakfast and taken by bus to their school. After School Care includes bus pick-up from area schools, snacks, outside play and homework time for the older children.
Newnan Academy offers a yearly Summer Camp Program that features theme weeks and field trips to invigorate the children’s imaginations and keep them excited about learning.
